The Ranch is this great place in Boulder Montana, its really in the valley between White Hall and Boulder and its been in the family for many many years. Its a cattle ranch, and the original home was built in 1870 and the main structure is log. The Ranch has some amazing stunning visual apsects to it. I told Aunt Helen, i could spend all day taking pictures of the ranch and the surroundings. As for the house its now a bed and breakfast.

Georgous!!!!

So day 3 we went to Bozeman and went rafting down the Gallatin River. OH WAS IT COLD!!! The river had some amazing scenery, really beautiful. I made a slide show and have no idea how to put it into the blog so its going to have to be a click to view kinda thing. here ya go!!

Click here to see the Gallatin River White Water Rafting Slide Show.

We followed the cold water up with the Hot Springs. Now me, never been to a hot spring before, assumed we would pull up to a secret spot on the side of the road and the would be a hot spring in the ground. Not so much.

its like a spa. indoor and outdoor, heated and cooled pools, there is a gym part and a sauna, even a smoothie bar! but totally not what I expected, but an awesome relaxing experience anyways. We all left and felt like a nap.

next day; YELLOWSTONE!!!!!!!!! what an amazing beautiful place, never been before and I am totally i love with the place and all the cool science stuff about it (who would ever thought i would be saying that!?)

First we ensured we got to see some bears at the Grizzly Discovery Center in West Yellowstone:

some elk

some “unstable ground” at the natural hot springs. no these are not for bathing.

they say those pools run hundreds to thousands of degrees. must be hot to produce steam like that at +90*.

Click here for the yellow stone slide show of old faithful!

and we saw some buffalo, and buffalo, and buffalo, and for fun, MORE buffalo. and a deer.

the little tan colored one in the middle is a new baby buffalo

they are show stoppers! traffic backed up for miles!!!

Thats the goods! i took over 300 pictures out there, so hopefully ill have some artistic edits up later this week!!!

Montana Trip

On the road to the Ranch, some serious sunsets! with in about 20 minutes of each other.

Our first day we drove out to Butte (not Butt) MT, Butte has the largest historic district in the US, it was #2 to new Orleans, then hurricane Katrina took most of their historic district.

when the town was a large mining town, the singles lived in this apartment style livingĀ  quarters.

old building, a brothel was across the street

mansion, for sale, $350,000. we had to get out and check it out! BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!

another mansion. this one’s owner was making $17m a month in 1900, this was his smallest home with 26 bedrooms. the roof and the gutters are copper, and some of the windows are stained glass.

the berkley pit. once a mining pit for copper, now closed, the water in the pit is highly toxic and rising at a rate of 12 feet per year.

Our Lady of the Rockies. Once we were out in Butte, we visited the Lady. a statue of Mary, 3 feet shorter than the statue of liberty, she sits on the continental divide

view from the top

next is rafting,,,, ill post that one later on.
